Dr. Sines has experience working with a full range of populations in a medical school setting, community mental health center, private clinic, university-based mental health clinic, residential treatment facility, juvenile detention center, and many public schools. She has extensive experience consulting with school personnel, parents, developmental pediatricians, and psychiatrists regarding educational planning for children with developmental, cognitive, and behavioral disabilities.
She is a former employee of Collier County school district and has served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of North Texas (UNT). Thus, she keeps very current on school policies and is knowledgeable of school district practices/resources. Her clinical services have extended to clients with all types of concerns and from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
Dr. Sines’ therapeutic work with individuals would best be described as integrative, and often consists of the use of cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, interpersonal, and play therapy techniques. She believes that treatment plans should be tailored to meet the unique needs of each individual always taking into account the developmental/systems/ multicultural perspective of the individual. Dr. Sines has special expertise in bilingual assessment. She has published, conducted workshops, and served as an expert consultant in several states in the area of bilingual assessment.
Dr. Sines is a full member of the Texas Psychological Association (TPA), Dallas Psychological Association (DPA), Fort Worth Area Psychological Association (FWAPA), and the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW). She is also recognized as a Nationally Registered Health Service Provider (#53140) and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Dr. Sines has published articles in professional psychological journals including The Clinical Neuropsychologist, the Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment, as well as a chapter in the prestigious Handbook of Mixed Methods in the Social and Behavioral Research. Her areas of special interests include child and adolescent therapy, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), ADHD, learning difficulties, play therapy, family systems, parenting skills building, psychoeducational testing, and pediatric neuropsychology.
